Skip Amazon and other online shopping destinations this holiday season and shop locally for everyone on your Christmas list. Browse Bluff Park for unique gifts for stocking stuffers or order a custom work of art from one of the many artists living and working in the area. Here are ten items, in no particular order, to help you get started – including some of my favorite finds.
1. Twelve Days Of Christmas
If it’s sales you are looking for, Turquoise on Shades Crest Road always has their “Twelve Days Of Christmas” sale with lots of goodies. The sale started on December 10th and each day brings a different sale. Turquoise is one stop shopping for ladies apparel, babies, and kids. I picked up a Rylee + Cru and Quincy Mae (certified organic cotton) baby dress and hat.
2. Food For Thought
A great gift for that busy person on your list is a gift certificate to Bluff Park Diner. The dining staple on Shades Crest Road is a favorite lunch spot for people all over Birmingham. Just stop in to purchase a certificate.
3. The Gift Of Spice
This holiday box of six Pilleteri’s seasonings and a liquid marinade is the perfect gift for the cook or grill master in your life. Mr. P’s is a Bluff Park icon and can help you find that perfect gift for any member of the family, friends, or coworkers. And Mr. P’s is one of my favorite finds!
4. The Gift Of Giving
Nicole Williams, Mary Kay. The gift that gives back. One dollar from each limited-edition Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara purchase goes to The Mary Kay Foundation which supports women’s shelters and survivors of abuse. Order online here: rebrand.ly/LashLove
**To celebrate Live Love Shop Bluff Park this week, Nicole is offering FREE gift-wrapping and personal delivery, plus a $10 gift card when you select “Personal Delivery” at checkout. marykay.com/nwilliams1020
5. Best Bag
I found the best bag at Burrow Interior Designs and it is another one of my favorite finds. It is a Baggu. I have two of them.
This reusable bag is not just for the grocery store, although it will hold 2-3 plastic grocery bags worth of items. You can carry it in your hand or over your shoulder and they fold into a flat five by five inch pouch. I use mine for the beach, gym clothes, and for general traveling. It holds fifty pounds and is 100% ripstop nylon.
6. Records Of Art
Another one of my favorite finds is local artist and resident Kelly Powell. Kelly has a unique artistic flair for hand-painted pieces. Her Old 45’s transform into a canvas for inspirational messages with style and color. Follow her Facebook page to purchase.
7. A Dangle
Zentangle artist Darla Williamson at Tangled Stone Studio has the perfect stocking stuffer this year! You may want to buy several. New! Necklaces are hand drawn – each is unique! You can order a custom design by December 13 to receive by Christmas!
Also new, commemorative Crosses. Great to celebrate a birth, wedding or life well spent. Darla can write dates and names on the back of large crosses with permanent ink for a very special gift. No custom orders for Christmas. Visit Darla in Shades Mtn Plaza.
8. Joyful Goodness
Some have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads – I dream about Monster Cookies. Skip the processed sweets and candies this year and bring a healthy, tasty treat from the Joyful Food Company to your dessert table this Christmas. Visit their store in Shades Mtn Plaza.
9. Sweet Home Alabama
Piggly Wiggly in Bluff Park has a large assortment of Alabama made products and local brews. A grocery store may not be the first place you think of for a holiday gift, but with the wide variety of speciality items they have, you can create a gift basket or box of local items you can’t readily find elsewhere. You can even create a custom six-pack of craft beers!
10. Have A Blue Christmas
Your Christmas gift list is not complete without a Velvet Elvis for that vintage rock and roll fan you know. Yes, we have one in Bluff Park. Check out Alford Avenue Antiques.
Now that you have a gift guide for shopping in Bluff Park, hop on over to Adorn By Priscilla as she shows you the best ways to decorate for the holidays. If you live here in Bluff Park, then you have one of the easiest holiday decorations in your yard…
*Please shop stores or contact owners for pricing on items or special sales from the top 10 gift guide.*

Great post Heather! I had no idea Darla was doing pendants! They look really neat. I’m going to drop by her studio!
