If you don’t have October 30th marked on your calendar, circle it in red and add a witch hat because the witching hour is near for two historic neighborhoods. Witches are taking flight in their annual Witches Rides supporting good causes. Both events feature neighbors and friends riding through the streets of Bluff Park and around Star Lake in Green Valley dressed as witches, tossing out candy and good-natured cackles along the way. There is no cost to attend the two separate events, but donations to some great causes are requested.

Sunday, October 30th 4:00-7:00pm
This ride is right at a mile and a half, beginning by Bluff Park Elementary School and ending at Bluff Park Village shopping center. The route will start on Cloudland Drive by the Elementary School track and will continue onto Lester Lane, Clearview Road, Bluff Road and back on Lester Lane to Clearview Road towards Bluff Park Shopping Village. I’ve attached the route for reference.
The Electric in Bluff Park Village will have a special cocktail and plenty of delicious food for a post ride celebration! Other activities will be available for children as well!
All proceeds from the ride benefit The WellHouse, a charitable organization that provides residential, therapeutic programs to female victims of human trafficking who have been sexually exploited, offering medical, spiritual, mental, and emotional care. Representatives from The WellHouse will be present after the ride to bring awareness to the organization and the critical needs being met by the incredible work they do for our community.
This year, Piggly Wiggly and The Electric are the Bluff Park Witches Ride presenting sponsors. Other sponsors include Carlo Joseph, Wild Roast, APCO Credit Union, Stanley Steemer, Mills Pharmacy, Camp Bow Wow, Walton Financial, Insurance Facilities, Burn Hoover, Bluff Park Ice Cream Shoppe, ARC Realty, and the Prueter family.
The Bluff Park Witches Ride is a volunteer effort by moms in Bluff Park including Katie Dixon, Laura Powell, Joy Johnston, Emily Brown, and Jennifer Jones.
